Neonatal–Pediatrics Specialty

Are you interested in the care of  very low birth weight infants requiring the most sophisticated respiratory care to medically fragile children in need of specialized services to transition from hospital to home. Young asthma patients who can’t participate in the same activities other kids do because of their disease. If this is your world, then the  MSRC Neonatal-Pediatric Section is the place for you! It’s the only community of RTs in the Massachusetts and New England area focusing specifically on the care and treatment of our youngest patients.

Keith Hirst, MS, RRT-NPS is the current Manager of Newborn Respiratory Care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.  He has been in the field of Respiratory for over 18 years in Neonatal/Pediatrics and has worked at Maine Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital and Rush University Medical Center (Chicago, IL).  He has been a part of both Neonatal/Pediatric Transport teams as well as Neonatal/Pediatric ECMO teams both in Boston and in Chicago.  He has presents lectures on Neonatal/Pediatric topics at both a local, regional and national level.  He looks forward to leading the MSRC Neo/Peds section.
